What is Being Done to Keep the Office Clean?

First and foremost, our patients’ health and safety are paramount. We take our responsibility to deliver excellent care very seriously. That high level of care ensures that we limit the spread of infection in our dental office, protecting the community we serve.

Both during this time and throughout every other period of service to our community, we have kept ourselves informed on the latest developments in circulating infections. This helps us be as prepared as possible — and ensuring that everyone remains safe and well. We can also make changes as needed and warranted.

As always, we strictly adhere to the latest health and safety guidelines that govern dental practices. Our dental sterilization protocol is in place to protect our staff, patients, and community. We must all do our part to limit the spread of germs, and our level of infection control in the dental office is on par with the best recommendations.

What Changes Can I Expect at My Appointment?

We want our patients to know that they can expect the same level of care and attention that we pride ourselves on delivering during every appointment.

Between each appointment, we clean and sanitize the examination room, wiping down surfaces with disinfectant cleaner before the next patient takes a seat. We ensure the sterilization of dental instruments so that all equipment is safe and sterilized for our patients.

With all of our infection control procedures in place, we also carefully monitor the effectiveness of our tools. We conduct tests to ensure that everything is working as it should be.

We are still dedicated to delivering the care you have come to expect from us, particularly during these challenging times. As always, you can rest easy knowing that you are in good hands when you come in for your appointment.

What Should I Know About Dental Sterilization?

We follow stringent disinfection and sterilization guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and the American Dental Association. For our patients, that means that we have been using the latest technology and best practices in our office ever since we opened our doors back in the very beginning. These practices include:

  • Dental Autoclave. This state-of-the-art technology utilizes high heat and pressurized steam to completely sterilize the tools and equipment that we reuse. We also incorporate test indicators to ensure that the autoclave is performing as expected. For tools and equipment that cannot be sterilized in the autoclave, we may incorporate single-use sterile tools that will be disposed of after their use.
  • Personal Protective Equipment. The gloves, face masks, facial shields, and other equipment comprise the personal protective equipment — or PPE — that our dental practitioners will be wearing during your visit. Wearing PPE helps protect both our staff and our patients from germs. We wash our hands with disinfectant soap and change gloves between every appointment to keep you safe.
  • Consistent and Thorough Cleaning. In addition to disinfecting the examination room between each appointment, we are also taking care to address high traffic touchpoints, such as counters, chairs, doors, and other surfaces. We focus our disinfecting on these areas to practice extra caution in the office.

We are here for you both now and in the future. If you have any questions or concerns prior to coming in for your appointment, do not hesitate to give us a call.
