First Visit

WELCOME TO KENNEDY DENTAL-
We know you have many options in northwest Ohio when it comes to dental providers, so we are pleased that you have chosen us to care for your dental needs.  We are committed to your care and we want you to know that we welcome your questions at any time.  We have two offices; one in downtown historic Marysville, and the other in the scenic Indian Lake region of Ohio.

Your initial appointment will consist of approximately an hour or an hour and a half of time spent getting to know you and to help you decide what your dental needs might be.  This time spent at the beginning is very important to both doctors and helps them deliver the highest quality of care.  Included in this visit will be a comprehensive head and neck exam, an oral cancer screening, a periodontal ( gum disease) screening, a detailed decay exam and any necessary x-rays that the doctor might need.  At times, we also take intra-oral photographs and impressions for diagnostic models.  The doctors evaluate the information that they gather and then sit down with you at the consultation appointment to address your needs and desires.  They go over the treatment in detail and give you options.  Our financial coordinator goes over the financial aspect and answers any questions you may have.  

Occasionally, treatment can be done the same day as the consultation. However, a complex medical history or treatment plan may require a different evaluation and a second appointment to provide treatment on another day.

Please assist us by providing the following information before the time of your initial exam:

• If you have medical or dental insurance, we will make a photo copy of your most recent card.  Our office bills all insurance electronically and we accept all third party payments.  Kennedy Dental is not a signed provider with any insurance company. Our staff is trained and  happy to assist you with any questions you have regarding insurance, financial options or fees.   

Insurance Information

At Kennedy Dental L.L.C. we make every effort to provide you with the finest care and the most convenient financial options. To accomplish this we work hand-in-hand with you to maximize your insurance reimbursement for covered procedures. If you have any problems or questions, please ask our staff. IMPORTANT: A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under 18 at the consultation visit.

Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are on any medication (i.e. heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.) or require medication prior to dental cleanings (i.e antibiotics, for pre-med.)

X-Rays

If your previous dentist has taken recent x-rays (within 6-months), you may request that they forward them to our office. If there is not enough time, please pick them up and bring them to our office. If additional films are necessary, they can be taken at our facility.  Dental x-rays are taken for a variety of purposes and we are pleased to let you know that we strive to take only the films that are necessary and useful.  Any of our staff can go over the different types of dental x-rays that we use and we can also provide you with additional information regarding the use of x-rays.
